August 18th Kings River Marina Boating Incident

On Monday, August 18, 2025, at approximately 1:53 PM, Central Crossing Fire crews were dispatched to a two-boat collision at the Kings River Marina near Viola.

Initial reports indicated that one person was unconscious in the water, while another occupant from the second boat had serious injuries. Other individuals involved sustained minor injuries.

Upon arrival, personnel determined that one person was tragically deceased. A second person with serious injuries was airlifted to a Springfield hospital, and the remaining individuals declined medical treatment at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Water Division.

Central Crossing Fire extends its gratitude to the agencies and organizations that assisted with the response, including Barry County 911, Kings River Marina, Eagle Rock Fire, Mercy EMS, Mercy Lifeline, the Missouri Highway Patrol, and the Barry County Coroner.
