The National Fire Protection Association recommends smoke detectors be replaced every 10 years.
Batteries should be replaced every 6 months. We suggest that when you change your clocks for Daylight Savings that you change your smoke detector batteries as well.
The Central Crossing Fire Protection District does not require residents of the district to get a permit for a burn. However, we do highly recommend to call Stone or Barry county dispatch via non-emergency line to report a controlled burn. You can find more about this in the Controlled Burning section.
